Second Passport Page Insert?
 

I am halfway through the lifetime of my passport and am approaching filling the first insert I had added in Singapore..is it possible to have another multipage insert added, or should I consider a new passport?
I have not been able to find this trivial information on any of the many websites that discuss the initial added pages.

My son had a second set added this summer. He went to the consulate in Almaty and had it done in 15 minutes. I had two inserts in my last passport.

I believe the official rule is that two multi-page inserts are allowed, however, I think I've heard of people getting more (others can correct me if I'm wrong).

My passport has two additional sets of pages. I did meet an individual who had 8. Someone who, for example is an expat. in Johor Bahru who commutes to Singapore 5 days a week would use up a single set of pages pretty quickly.

There are multiple threads on this, but it takes approximately 30 minutes at any Embassy or consular section outside the country.

Do a search here as there are many threads on this subject. But I can tell you that you can add many, many pages to a US passport. I have about 200 in my passport and I will add more at one of the embassies in China next week.

Is your passport still accepted as a carry on or do you have to gate check it by now? :eek: :D :p ;)

While you're right that expats fill up their passports quickly (I went through 16 pages while interning in Singapore for six months), a case like you describe above would have border crossing cards for both Singapore and Malaysia and would not get any stamps on his daily commute. Those sixteen pages I mentioned only contained two Singaporean stamps - one from when I first entered, and one from when I left for good. Between the two, I did not get a single stamp on numerous entries/exits because I had a border crossing card, issued as part of my work permit.
