Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

I flyertalk everywhere but probably the most at home because that is where I have the most free time. When I am traveling I am usually quite busy and only post if something happened on my trip.

That said this post is from the DCA metro station. It seems to be a slow travel day considering its the day before Thanksgiving.

Home, hotels, internet cafes, etc. Not at work, as I'm not sure they'd like that. :)

Yes.

Putting my rollaboard in the overhead bin a few days ago, I glanced down; the person seated in front of me was typing in his iPhone, and a very familiar screen caught my eye; FlyerTalk.

We had a pleasant chat...

Me too--I read from everywhere, but only post where there's a computer or I have my laptop handy.

Sorry if this is a boneheaded question--but how are folks posting on blackberries/PDAs? Is there any particular software or app designed for that purpose? I use Viigo to keep up on news feeds (including flyertalk threads) on a Verizon BB 8703e with EVDO, but the internet browsing is still clumsy enough I can't imagine navigating a seriously long flyertalk thread to do more than read it (i.e. I don't post). Maybe other folks are also just reading, not posting, when using the BB/PDA etc.?

Flyer talk has a mobile version. Although I don't use it. I use Opera Mini on my Treo 750 and it formats the whole page to fit my screen if I choose so.

everywhere

Kiwi Flyer Nov 22, 2007 11:51 am

everywhere - from at least a couple of dozen countries

Rejuvenated Nov 22, 2007 12:14 pm

Virtually almost everywhere and mostly on my laptop which I virtually carry with me all the times. Of course can't deny the significant bulk comes from home and the office.

BelfastFlyer Nov 22, 2007 2:29 pm

it's home for me. I don't have a pda yet and it's a no no at work..

AirP Nov 23, 2007 11:31 am

Home, airports, hotels and sometimes the office as time permits.

Punki Nov 23, 2007 12:26 pm

Mostly home or on the road. Right now I am posting from our vacation condo in Whistler, B.C. I am usually too busy at work to hang out on the internet for play.

beckduer Nov 23, 2007 12:38 pm

Mostly on my lunch breaks at work. Sometimes, on a slow day, I'll spend a while reading FT before my break hits (allowed, given the workflow here) and then post on my break.

Read it alot (and refer to it alot) at home, but rarely post there -too many interuptions and awkward keyboarding space.

Athena53 Nov 23, 2007 12:46 pm

I read at home and at work, but post 99% from home. In my experience, posting is the biggest time-killer- not only because of the time it takes to compose and type but also the visits back to see if anyone responded.

So I'm thinking this post didn't take that long...? ;)

Or did you wait for this one? ;)

KenJohn Nov 24, 2007 3:39 am

I have posted the odd short message from the blackberry while sitting in the car, foot on brake of course, waiting for the traffic lights to change or sitting in rush hour traffic going into work. :D

Except church & work :D

violist Nov 24, 2007 5:27 pm

at the Koru Club right now

ECOTONE Nov 24, 2007 5:34 pm

CRC - 5%
Home - 15%
Work - 5%
Hotel - 75%

typically only in the office 4-5 days a month - so the percentage is quite low. same applies to home unfortunetly :(
