What is the Record Jetway Distance?
Warning: This thread has no actual relevance to anything important - am just curious.
Just went thru A13 at Logan yesterday and the walk seemed pretty long. So I am curious. What delta walk is the longest? I realize we don't geek out and roll a measuring wheel along side of us so just guess your best. What gate has the longest distance from the boarding pass scanner machine to the actual aircraft door threshold? I say A13 at Logan but I seem to remember an E-Concourse gate at ATL that was a hike also. |

I guess it will be impossible to measure but was surprised at LGW last week. Boarded a First Choice flight to Kos out of (I think) Gate 55. If you look at the picture in the link, the boarding area is just to the right of the last of the three widebody jets, and the aircraft is to the far right!

Gates at T3 LHR seem to be long distances as well.
|
The trek from scanner to plane door, are very very very long at the intl gates in Terminal 4 in MAD!
|
The jetway at HKG gate 1 is about the longest I can recall.

Schiphol (AMS) has to have some contenders among the longest jetways.
Granted, due to their tight tubular construction they feel longer than they are, but some of them are really quite long. Love the portholes. ^ |
MEX was the longest walk in an airport to get to my gate I've ever had.
|
Both terms A and C at DFW have a couple gates that double as domestic and int'l gates, with partitions to direct incoming int'l flights to customs. I think they're around A15 and C15.
Once you get your BP scanned, you have to walk through the door, turn right and go ~10 yards, turn left toward the tarmac and go ~20 yards, turn right down a ramp and go about ~25 yards, do a 180 around the corner and go another ~25 yards down the rest of the ramp in the opposite direction you were just walking, turn right and finally enter the actual jet-bridge and go another ~30 yards to the aircraft door. |
gate 33 at HEL - I couldn't believe how long a walk it was and not even a long haul flight/aircraft.
there are also some very long jetways at DXB |
19 at HKG is also a contender
|
This gate at LHR T5 must be a contender.
The longest I recall seeing is this one at SEA South Satellite. May actually have used it a few times too. |
