SeatCounter.com down?

I searched and couldn't really find a seatcounter thread...so I love the NW ppl, figured I'd post here.

Anyone having issues searching on seatcounter? I tried in IE and FF, cleared my cache, cookies, etc. One of the best tools out there and it seems to be on the fritz right now. Other testimonials to that?

Thanks!

I have tried a couple of times today and get no results

I think my first attempt was this morning, then certainly this afternoon, and shortly ago around 8pm CDT. No availability charts are returned.

It's working okay for me now.

I have encountered the same error in seatcounter.com, no availability chart. I was going to post the problem here, but bonoman did it first. I have tried most of today and no luck.

I'd say in about one out of ten tries I'll get a page with no flight info. I've found hitting the retry always gives me a different day if it gives me any results, but all this has been happening for weeks. I just do a new search and fill out the info again and it usually works that time.

Have had similar issues, even tried different machines.

FWIW, I signed up for Expert Flyer. There is a 5 day trial before they bill your credit card and I like EF enough that I'll probably just pay for a subscription.

So far I'm happy with it and everything that is offered. Will make planning trips, especially complex itins much easier with all the detailed info available in one spot (i.e. able to see all fares, fare designators, and fare rules in a any market in an easy, quick usage format).

It may not be free (other than the 5 day trial) but I love the level of detail.

Did what you suggested - new search - still no luck! Will try again in a few days time to see if the problem has gone away.

I guess I've just had really good luck.

Now SeatCounter love for me right now. :(

SchmutzigMSP Aug 17, 2007 7:01 am

SeatCounter just gives a "pretty" display of what the other availability tools give.

Use ExpertFlyer or one of the free ITN mirrors like the one I have set up at:

http://availability.publicbackup.com/

flyaow Aug 17, 2007 10:37 am

Or from the site that SchmutzigMSP mirrored: http://flyaow.com/classamex.htm

There is a list of other options available too at http://flyaow.com/class.htm

;)

Cheers!

Actually, I mirrored this one (which no longer works, BTW):
http://www.geocities.com/farebuckets/

In any case, I'm currently using a different source for availability info. Since both are free, folks might as well use them both to get the best overall information.

flyaow Aug 17, 2007 10:53 am

Which had mirrored the flyaow page. It is always good to acknowledge your roots. ;)

The major differences in the data that have been found, as I understand it, are that the site currently mirrored does not provide some OneWorld carriers like AA. (Not relevant for this forum clearly.) The flyaow current site does have a broader coverage of airlines.

Cheers!

SeatCounter out for me too

I've been trying a couple of times today and still no availability charts. Thought it was just me until I logged in here today. I feel much better.
