Travel Documentation
It's pretty much impossible to get anyone on the phone, from any government department, who has a clue. So here goes.
1. Canadian Citizen 2. Permanent resident in the USA (with green card) 2. Canadian birth certificate 4. American drivers license. 5. Do not have a valid passport. 6. Flying. Looking to travel to Canada for a week, then return home (early august). From what I can tell, a birth certificate and photo ID will get me into Canada. From what I can tell, a green card/photo id/birth certificate will not get me back into the USA. Looks like I need a valid passport. But I've had conflicting answers on this. Some say they travel back into the USA with just a green card. I know some of the new laws were delayed, but it's really hard to find an answer that I trust (I don't want to get stuck in Canada). If anyone can offer any help, it would be appreciated. |
