BKK-YVR fare gone wrong
I am currently on my Asiana BKK-YVR (C) class RT and have so far completed BKK-ICN-SFO potion of it. The problem began when I arrived in SFO at the immigration line. I ran into what could possibly be a serious immigration problem and was forced to stop my trip here in SF to take care of this matter and naturally unable to continue on to YVR and complete the outbound.
What I am worried about rest of the trip. If this was one way ticket, I would be happy to just eat the cost of SFO-YVR portion and be over with, but I still have the entire return portion left. I have made numerous attempt at calling Orbitz (my TA) and OZ. Orbitz directs me to to OZ and OZ tells me they will have to wait till monday to figure it out. My worst fear is that I would loose my entire trip or they would try to apply HIP which shoots up my fare basically making the remaining portion value to 0. But this is just all hearsay and and I am totally lost on what I can do. Is there anything I can do to salvage my trip at this point? Has anyone have any knowledge on how to remedy this situation? Please help!! |
Sabre lists the fare as unrestricted. If this is correct, the no-show fee is $0 and you can rebook your dates at no charge, but you must fly the SFO-YVR portion and there may no longer be availability on your original dates.
I have no-showed on full fare tickets plenty of times without problems but I don't have experience with these ex BKK fares so I may be wrong - anyone else feel free to chime in Cheers |
Unfortunately, this topic of conversation isn't really mileage run related. Instead of moving this to the Other Asian, Australian, and South Pacific Programs forum where it would be best suited, I'm going to move this to TravelBuzz where it is also appropriate.

OP - if your immigration issue is legit, you may be able to get a kind agent who will break the rules for you and not charge you because of your specific situation. |
