Very interesting! Thanks for the info. I'll look into it, though it's too late for an upcoming flight where the only good options were a DL nonstop or a connection through LHR, and half the band are booked on the connection because of just this reason.

You know.. this would be a good solution to the over-litigiousness problem in the US... just have cute girls with French accents apologizing for broken sidewalks, slip and falls, defective products etc.

In 1991 I traveled with a Russian hand painted Balalaika (Gypsy guitar) from a visit to the former USSR, and it kept banging into the seatbacks on every seat as I moved down the isle. Like some cartoon, I was saying "sorry" to everyone as I made my way to my seat in the back and it banged lightly on each seattop's edge making the person sitting there at the isle wince at me. :D
