Smallest airport you've ever flown into?
So I'm off to IYK tomorrow for work.
I think for me this will be the smallest North American airport I've been to yet, although I expect that to be topped(sic) by CHO, which we'll be flying into later this summer for my brother's wedding.
What's the smallest airport with regular, scheduled service you've ever been to?
Prior to this, for me, it would have to be AYQ in 1997. Only recently paved, a couple flights a week, with no taxiway. Just run out to the end of the runway, then double back and pull off onto a parking pad. I don't know what it's like now(not really sure I want to think about that).
Other small(ish) airports I've flown into:
ALS (No jetways, just walk out to the plane, but they did have jets. I flew a BAE-146 out of there)
LAN (Embraer only for me . My uncle was so proud when they finally put in jetways so NW could bring in their DC-9s)
FNT (Saw RJs, flew in on a Dornier, flew out on a Saab 340)
CLD(Embraer)
MRY(Small, no gates, actually flew in on an A320. talk about scary...)
VTE is actually pretty big size-wise, and they can take widebodies, even though they don't have many flights, so it's pretty empty, but I don't think they count.

I've been to plenty of airports in NZ with just 1 gate, 1 short runway, tiny terminal, only small prop flights (even larger props can't use the airport).

GTE (Groote Eylandte) in the Gulf of Carpentaria, paved, tin shed for terminal.
South-West Bay, Malekula, Vanuatu - not paved, just packed coral. Baggage taken to aircraft in wheelbarrow. http://www.news.vu/en/business/Airli...-upgrade.shtml

VIS (back when UA flew VIS-FAT)
ACV
Both are one gate, no waiting, particularly VIS (a time or two I was the only pax)

Heck, VIS doesn't even have a gate. Just a door that you walk through onto the ramp. On return, you don't even enter the terminal, just exit the ramp through a chain link gate. It and ACV are the smallest I've seen.
FAT is actually a pretty large regional airport as small city airports go. It even has international flights now - MEX via Mexicana.
- - Oops. I see cblaisd beat me in on this.

CLD(Carlsbad, CA. about an hour from SAN) only had GA and UA Embraers and Beechcraft. We walked off the plane, walked into the terminal and had to wait for the guy with the go-cart to come around with our bags.
They could have just unloaded them there by the plane for us to pick up.
FAT strikes me as getting to be more like GPT or LAN.

KKE - Kerikeri (Bay of Islands) in NZ. The captain was the baggage handler.
The bit that surprised me most, though, was that there was no security.
