Shipping clothes to destination

One of the worst parts of traveling with younger kids, in my opinion, is dealing with checked baggage, not to mention the time you waste checking it and waiting for it at major airports. By using space bags, I've figured out that I can compress all of our clothes, etc., into a box that would cost about $35 to ship via UPS. This is well worth the money to me. Do you think most hotels/timeshare resorts would accept receiving a UPS shipment for a guest? I am thinking that the label would read:

Hotel/Timeshare Resort
ATTN: GUEST My Name
GUEST ARRIVING 03/24/07
Hotel/Timeshare Address
City, State, Zip
Call (xxx) xxx-xxxx with questions.

Shipping back would be easy at any UPS affiliate. Do you think this will work?

No problem anywhere in the world in my experience. Clothes once got stuck in German customs, which was the only glitch ever.

No problem whatsoever; I've done that very thing, although it was usually equipment going ahead of me on a business trip. The only hitch will be if it's international travel...that will take a little more effort.

I would probably call CS or desk staff at the destination, though, to let them know to look for it.

I have done this before, not with clothes, but with materials I needed for out-of-town job assignments. Whenever I shipped materials, I always indicated "HOLD FOR GUEST ARRIVING ON [DATE]" on a separate label on the top of the package (not on the shipping label) as I feel that this is more eye-catching for the hotel staff that will be receiving the package, and perhaps less confusing for the UPS delivery person.

I've done it, no problems. But I also call the front desk to let them know that a package for me is arriving.
