Northernmost was Point Barrow Alaska. (not "just" Barrow!) Minus 10 or whatever - in mid Summer.
Southernmost was crossing the Antarctic circle in an icebreaker for the new Millennium.
I was actually the first person to cross the Circle by sea this century.

I hate to brag, but by definition I win
Geographic South Pole January 2003 (via Punta Arenas...Adventure Network...3 weeks)
Geographic North Pole July 2003 (Intrav 'cruise'...10 days).
I think I am in about 500 that have done both geographic poles. As I said...I win...this thread can now be closed

I apologize in advance if someone won in advance of me...I did not have time to read the whole thread since I am actually currently in Zanzibar...will follow this thread in few days.
If anyone is interested in further details on the poles please post or PM. There used to be trip reports for both...might still be there.

Bruny Island, Tasmania at 43 25 S
(Southernmost point in Australia is slightly lower. Southeast Cape, at 43 38 S.)
On rethinking: Milford Sound, New Zealand. Also Anchorage Alaska.

Cruised north of Longyearbyen around Svalbard to above 80 degrees N latitude last summer. (Got some great polar bear pictures)
South Milford Sound, New Zealand, 44degrees 40 min 40 sec South
Antarctica is on the list, but I'm waiting to do hard places first.

We are still trying to figure out how to get on that island.....
There's a helicopter company that offers a flight over and a picnic on a beach. Over the years we have tried to book it 3 times, but with no success, due to weather or lack of demand, that day. With the current safety issues involving tour helicopters in our state, its still "up in the air."
As far as extreme North and South for us: Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, and Sydney, Australia.
