Transit Rules ?
Hi Guys
I really need your advice. I Am a Danish Citezen who is flying from the US Via charles de gaulle airport (paris, France) and then I have to wait 8 hours for my connecting flight to Denmark. Now I have written the airport and asked if I can leave the airport during these 8 hours to kill som time. And They keep saying that Im am not allowed to leave the transitarea !! I find it hard to belive that it is legal to deny me to leave the airport. Both Denmark and France is the EU and part of the Schengen Group. Is this normal pratice ? Any experiences / input ? |
ohla
At this point, I can welcome you to Flyertalk. I am sorry that I cannot answer your specific question. Looking forward to your contributions on FT. and wish you good luck and best wishes. |
Since you'll be in EU, you'll be able to leave the airport without problems. When they ask you for the purpose of your stay, just say that you'll be spending your connection time in Paris (or wherever). Most people who work at CDG don't know what they're doing.

Whoever answers you either is a moron, or doesn't know your question.
You go through Schengen passport control at CDG. Then, you can go see the Eiffel Tower, take a train to Belgium, or whatever. You then go back to the airport to fly home. That's it. |
As a EU citizen you have a right to visit France. Nobody will ask you anything when you clear immigration at CDG.
