Travel Aids
 

Could the experienced travellers out there care to help on what one could pack as an aid/s to make travel easier on longhaul and international flights.
I have seen pillows for round the neck ones that sit on your tray table, some sort of air /battery operated seat to sit on , noise cancelling headphones, footrests
I would like to see if there are other items out there and also how the above rate if at all.

Most important for me is the noise cancelling headphones, ear plugs, and eye mask. I try to sleep on long flights and these items help me. Oh yes, one or more ambian.:)

High quality audio that blocks out my surroundings is key to my getting through long flights. My in-flight sound system consists of a 5g iPod with 60 gig hard drive, Bose QC2 headphones and a Total Airhead headphone amplifier.

Give me that and a decent sandwich or two that I bought the day before and I could fly to the moon.

another vote for magellans as i have used the "komfort-kollar" travel pillow from them. in terms of things such as n/c headphones/earbuds, as the saying goes-3 rabbi's/4 opinions ;). things like that are truly a matter of personal preference and budget-i use the brookstone SoundShield® 250 ($150.00) and they are great . i do carry an ipod for those ua flights wehre the captain does not turn on ch-9 as well as a pair of eyeshades (nothing fancy) and a pair of "airplane socks" from one of my ua ammenity kits. other than that (and having a toothbrush & toothpaste "reachable"), that's it for me and i'll venture to say that if you're like most, your "goodies" will be an on-going ever changing list based on your travel experiences as there is truly no wrong/right way.

n.b. my travel pillow from magellans is the inflatable one vs the memory foam and i learned that your neck will sweat unless you unfold a bandanna and place it around the parts of the pillow that will touch your neck-once done, it's perfect ^.
