I was pricing out a journey on ITA, and it came out with an interesting fare construction:

Does anyone know what this NUC 6709.54 charge is all about?

I am guessing that this is similar to the HIP check. In this case, the full LON-LGK fare (~10 000 USD) is higher than your LON-KUL + KUL-LGK (~4 000 USD), so a surcharge for the difference (~6 000 USD) is being applied ...

oh, i see. that makes sense.

Seperate tickets it is :D Hopefully EK will check bags through.
