Best day of week to make reservation?
When making online reservations, is there a day in the week that is most advantageous? Fares seem to flucuate. Thanks in advance for any reply!

I'm guessing this is more of a TravelBuzz question than Community, but this link may help you:

EZFlier, welcome to FlyerTalk. Gleff is correct and I'll move this to TravelBuzz for further discussion. Ocn Vw 1K, Co-Mod, CommunityBuzz.
So far as airline fares go, lately, many airlines have been loading fare increases on Thursdays and Fridays hoping that others will match over the weekend. If all match, the hike stays. Otherwise, the fare hike is rescinded Monday. So many say, avoid the weekend for ticket purchase. |
I was once advised that Tuesday is the best day. I know at least once that advice saved me about $75, but for the most part I haven't seen much of a difference on the routes I typically fly.

For reasons I can't remember right now, I seem to think that Wed is the best day of the week. Probably something to do with inventory.
For US/Can Travel, Farecompare.com has this advice on the question of "when": http://www.farecompare.com/downloads...l.htm?home=yes |
Wednesday is no better than any other day, according to the information which gleff posted above.
"The Wednesday midnight rule is a myth." |
also farecast.com can tell you when the best time might be to buy your ticket.

Most all airline fare sales are for travel Tues/Weds/Sat. Those tend to be the least traveled days of the weekm, therefore the airlines are willing to offer a low rate. Some carriers (Air Tran for example) do not even allow Sunday travel on their sale fares. Try avoiding Fri/Sun whenever possible when looking for a low rate.
