Two possibilities- could you do a second review? (The software may prevent it but you could try.) Or you could encourage the hotel to post an answer to your review.
|
To re-review a property on TripAdvisor, one submits a request to delete an existing review, and then submits a new review for publication.

I do quite like TA and will submit a review on around 50% of my stays at hotels if I feel I can write something worth typing. If I'm going to a hotel just to crash, get up and leave it's a waste of time and bandwidth!
The ability to look up another member's review is useful, however I'm worried my mother-in-law will be able to read my scathing review of hotel stay she chose, booked and paid for on a trip away with them :D |
I follow Olympic rules with Trip Advisor--throw out the top and bottom reviews and look at everything else. Look for details. It you hate hard beds and that is an item in a review or more than one review, take care. Having a review does not take away from the fact that eveyone should do their research when looking for a hotel. Trip Advisor is only one tool on the web--but it can be a useful tool. And yes, I post reviews. I use the service, therefore I contribute.

For both hotels, last time I looked, they had no information and I was invited to be the first member to review the hotel. Guess who won't be bothering to reupload their opinions... (And no, there's been no change of management or hotel renovations since I posted my reviews) |

They were just scathing. She said they came mad and upset and nothing she could do could make things any better and she got the brunt of it for some reason. After staying at the hotel I could only agree that the reviews seemed like they were from some complete other place, as this place was fantastic. You just have to look at a large cross section and not let two or three out of scores of reviews sway you every time. Some people really do just enjoy being bitter and biting I think.

I try to match the reviews with the pictures the hotel provided :D
Also, I would "google" the hotel for more images and more reviews on other websites. |
My view is that while Trip Advisor is far from perfect, it's the best thing I've found yet for hotel reviews. Like others, I focus on those who post very specific aspects of the hotel. That way I can give more weight to those things also of great importance to me and ignore those which don't concern me one way or the other. I also believe that after reading hundreds of reviews there I am getting pretty good at spotting the fake raves.

I use & post on TripAdvisor regularly. Again I ignore the best and worst, and concentrate on the reviews in the middle. Some US & Canadian posters seem to be obsessed with room sizes and that won't really make or break my trip :p
I try to review every hotel I stay in and have left both glowing & scathing reviews (just posted a scorcher on a truly bad hotel in Ireland). |
Hmm, I always see far more negative reviews than positive ones.. or could it be that i just stay at crappy hotels?!

I have over a dozen reviews on tripadvisor.com-today I submitted one of the Alladin in Las Vegas and I got this in my email

I guess thiss is a good thing? |
I think it is a good thing bigguyinpasadena.
