Clever. I understand now. BUT....do you know for sure if the refunds in the next billing cycle will be 1 point to 1 dollar? True you don't lose anything if they do catch on to the refund and take back everything you earned with these tickets. I would hate to see you waste your time for nothing. This isn't something I would call and ask on either; why bother tipping them off? I would suggest that if you have not done so already, to closely read the T&C (if there are any) of the double points promo and see if it mentions anything about returns.

Worst comes to worst they see you are increasing your spending habits and you might get a CLI :)

Don't know which card you use, but in my experience, these sort of promotional "bonus" miles don't post as fast as regular miles. (Maybe I use the wrong cards?)
