San'a, Yemen, hands down.

I seriously felt like a time traveler, going back over a thousand years... The culture, the architecture, the sounds, sights and smells. The guns, donkeys, mosques amd warm people... I know it sounds crazy, but it made a bigger impression on me than Cairo or Jerusalem.

Like others, I can't think of one city that tops them all...

Berlin - a living museum, so much history yet so modern, all the culture
Seattle - the mountains, the sea, the water, the nature, the people
Cape Town - the grandeur, the diversity (albeit segregated), quaint history, wine

Hmmm, very hard to narrow it down to one or even two, however, I'd have to go with Siem Reap, Cambodia (Angkor Wat) and Rio de Janiero!

Cerritos, California. Don't knock it unless you've been there!

Kyoto, Japan.

You'll be sorry you went back to heavy civilization after you see the Golden temple there!

Though I'm a born and bred New Yorker, I still think NYC is the center of the universe.

After that, in no particular order:

Paris
Beijing
Hong Kong
Barcelona

It's amazing how most of us seem to like the same kind of city, as my favourite ones are Singapore and Hong Kong, with New York and Istanbul as runners up. I'm looking forward to the weekend I'm spending in Bangkok next month, and Tokyo has been on top of my wish list for years...

This thread is being hijacked by people talking about their favorite Cities instead of the most interesting. I was trying to get information on the most shocking, bizarre and exotic places people like to visit, instead of Disney like places- San Francisco.

Well, that's not what you had asked (and San Francisco is not in the least bit Disney). Nonetheless, if shocking, bizarre and exotic is what you're looking for, I'd suggest somewhere in India -- perhaps Jaipur or Jodhpur.
