Wet-ones allowed on board?
I shudder thinking about boarding a long-haul flight without wet-ones.
Does anyone know are these prohibited now? I have the small packets, about the size of pack of small Kleenex. I poured over the TSA list of approved / not approved, and although I am now clear on things like pudding, spear guns, and spillable batteries, I am in the dark about wet-ones. |

I agree you should be fine. I saw a women pull out a packet of Wet Ones in the airport which means it must have passed TSA muster already. Also, many people on the FT Women's Travel board have mentioned how they have wetted pieces of cotton pads or paper towels with lotion, toner, eye makeup remover, etc. to be able pack these items in carry-ons.

wet ones ok
I also posted in the earlier-referenced threads on this, but yes, the short
answer is that they are ok. One thing that happened on my most recent flight was that the screener asked if the "cup" (canister of 40 wet-ones) was empty in my bag. I didn't really understand the question at the time, but I said that there wasn't any water or liquid in the bag, and that seemed to be enough of a reply. I guess the container looked like a water bottle on the X-ray or something? So if you really want a guarantee that the wet-ones will go through, I guess don't take the big canister, but you should be fine. And yes, many of us shudder to think of long (or short!) flights without them. :) --LG |

--LG Security man says: "Wot this? Drugs?" I say: "No, not drugs. Don't worry." Security man says: "Ok, no problem" (Somehow reminds me of the Monty Python sketch where someone knocks at a woman's door. She lets him in when he assures her that he's not an encylopedia salesman but merely a burglar.) |

so far so good
on the single use packets from all reports. Purell also makes these. They aren't cheap. Not good reports on the single use alcohol swabs which makes no sense at all.
Yes, the women are trying to keep up with all this. |
