Flight Attendant Fear

I happened to catch "Anderson 360" while they were reporting on the capture of John Mark Karr (suspected murderer of JonBenet Ramsey).

It seemed to be of major concern that Mr. Karr was given a first class seat and meal. However, I found it more disturbing to hear the flight attendent on the Thai Airways flight that transported Karr back to US reported to a CNN reporter that she was afraid to be on the plane with Mr. Karr The CNN crew also interviewed one of the other passengers who said, no, he wasn't scared, but commented more on the "media frenzy" surrounding the suspect.

If these are the people that are supposed to be trained for terrorists/hijackers/other emergencies, I think that we have alot more to be afraid of than a suspect who is surrounded by law enforcement officials. I wonder if a US flight attendant would say the same thing?

Who knows, it was probably the same flight attendant who served him champagne..

Being afraid and letting fear compromise one's actions are completely different. But let this revelation of emotion reassure those FTers who complain of robotic FAs on Asian carriers that they are, in fact, human.

I can see being afraid of what Mr Karr represents. I can't imagine being afraid that he could harm anyone on that aircraft. Maybe the FA was misquoted or misinterpreted.

My bet is the FA was misinterpereted, or even better (or worse), misrepresented. Scared FAs make good news.

I'm not entirely sure I know what the FA thought she was doing, speaking to the press about a customer, and a high-profile one at that. I don't know about TG's rules, but it strikes me as the sort of thing which many companies would absolutely prohibit.

FYI TG doesn't have F on the direct BKK-LAX flight.
