Atlantic City - The Big question
Hi all
Was watching Sky News this morning re the closure of the casinos due to no NJ regulators.
They were talking about what would you do in Atlantic city if all the casinos were closed and it could be cool to here all our sister and brothers in flyertalk if they had...
"10 things to do in Atlantic City other than Gambling"
Many thanks in advance

I have not been to AC in over 20 years. The only reason I went there was for the casinos - the rest was a dump (including a block or 2 from them )! I see it hasn't changed much!
I hear that many of the (casino) bus tours that would have gone to AC are now considering going instead to the CT casinos (Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods). IMHO, they are more interesting than I remember AC to have been!

Well, it is summertime and they do still have a boardwalk and beach.
But I doubt I'd stay in Atlantic City; like Analise I'd go to Cape May or perhaps even farther and take the Cape May -- Lewes ferry over to the Delaware shore.

Besides the casinos, the only other viable entertainment in AC is walking on the boardwalk. A slice of good pizza, some caramel popcorn.. salt water taffy. After you get bored doing this (30 minutes), get out of AC as there is nothing else remotely redeeming in value to the place and head south to Sea Isle City or Avalon if you want to be on the beach or Cape May if you're into old victorian architecture.

Agreed--leave: there isn't really much else to do in AC. You either love the place or hate it--I am not found of AC. There are other things to do in the area: explore the shore. I'd drive up route 9 and visit the site of the Hindenburg crash; I have always wondered if there is any kind of memorial there.

I stopped by in AC on my way down from visiting my cousin in Manahawkins (further north).
I didn't think the casinos were all that and the city definitely is a dump. The boardwalk is pretty nice but that's it.
