PVD airport parking
I've searched on this topic in FT and haven't come across anything that useful. I'm looking for off-airport parking rates for Providence (PVD). I've come across several places that charge $12-16 day, with a couple various discounts for AAA or internet rates. I also know that the airport itself charges $11/day for parking in the economy lot.
The question is this: What are the cheapest options for long weekend parking for the PVD airport? |
Have you tried searching the airport website?
|
There just aren't that many choices. When I lived in RI, I usually used Preflight, but once I used Thrifty. There's also Post Road. I think that's it. Not enough competition to get the prices down. And the long-term terminal parking sucks - very long walk to the terminal. $12 minus 10% or so with a coupon is probably the best you can get.

ContinentalFan, yes I checked the website. I've found, though, that airport websites tend not to advertise off-airport parking too heavily as many see those services as "competition". Of course, if everyone tried parking at the airport itself, they'd run out of room.
Rkkwan, thanks for confirming what I was beginning to suspect. I was hoping there were some cheaper options, because I found the rates quite high. It seems rates are cheaper at many of the bigger airports. Just to summarize (maybe helpful for someone): Pre-Flight Parking: $12/day; $10.80/day after coupon http://www.longtermparking.com/COUPO...flightpvd.html Post Road Airport Valet: $14/day regular rate; $12/day rate listed on site; 15% coupon (off of $14 rate??) on website http://www.airportvalet.com Thrifty Parking $15.95/day; 10% off coupon on website; 15% AAA discount http://www.longtermparking.com/COUPONS/cpthriftypvd.htm |
You can also get a free day coupon for Post Road Airport Valet at http://www.airportdiscountparking.com, along with the $12/day rate.

Another option at PVD is Garage C. It is the closest parking garage to the terminal (actually next to the terminal), and is connected to the terminal by a covered walkway.
Most people believe that this is an airport operated garage, but it is actually a private garage. (The airport owned garages are farther away, and involve either more walking or a shuttle.) Since I live in PVD I do not park there (I have someone drop me off), so I am not certain of the price. But I do recall seeing on the airport sign on the road in saying (IIRC) Garage C - $13/day! |
I believe Garage C is the structure next to the short-term parking building, right? While it is all covered walkway to the terminal, I've found it more convenient to use the other ones and ride a shuttle to the front door of the airport.

Since I live in PVD, I don't normally park. I thought that I once saw the garage next to the terminal said "Garage C". But I took a ride today and saw it was actually "Garage A". :( Garage C is farther away. The ads say "covered walk", but I now see it's not the closest one! Sorry for the misinformation! My bad! |
PVD airport parking
There is a shuttle bus from the long term lot.

alanh, thanks for the coupon link. That makes Post Road a little cheaper than Pre-Flight and the Airport's economy lot for a 4 day trip. (Exactly how much cheaper depends on how much they charge for tax--the other places include tax in the rates.)
ON-AIRPORT PARKING RATES Valet Parking Garage B $33 Daily Garage $20 Weekly Lot $11 daily; $56 per week |

says they are $10 a day, never used them, but when we were thinking about it it was the cheapest we found. |
Great, thanks for the link. It's the same Post Road Valet parking service, but the rate is cheaper on this site--probably because this site requires CC prepayment.
