Flying to BOM. Help needed....

I am new to this site and have been browsing for a few days.
I was looking to fly from DEN to BOM in November. Was wondering if there are any good sites to hunt for inexpensive tickets.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

use makemytrip.com or Richmondtravels.com You can also call travel agents with consolidator fares to India. One of which is AP Travels at 301-431-1120

Welcome to Flyertalk memanny.

The Milesbuzz forum is for special deals or information related to gaining or using frequent flyer miles. I'll go ahead and move this to TravelBuzz.

Welcome to FT. One site I always recommend to ppl looking for India fares is http://www.alanitatravel.com/ (I do NOT work for them or am NOT affiliated w/'em in any way) - they seem to have the best (read cheapest) fares to India whenever I'm looking for 'em.

They list their fares on their website most of the times (if you're looking for peak period fares the website will usually just say to contact them for latest fares.) The fares on the website are excluding taxes. They need you to call them (or email 'em) and give them your number so an agent will get back to you usually in 10-15 mins (depending on their load).

Good luck.

November is generally a good month to travel to BOM
the tickets are relatively inexpensive then.

I generally search the airlines directly and I also use travelocity to do the
comparison.

Just keep in mind, not all airlines will show up on one of the generic travel
web sites.

Do you have specific dates in mind?

Leaving around November 25th should not be a big issue, but the December 25th
might be an issue. (inbound US wont be as bad as outbound)

I think its a bit early to get a good deal, but keep an eye on
NW, DL and EK. (EK could ticket you a domestic segment on a
local airline)

Leaving on Wednesday, thursday and Sunday and return (leaving BOM)
on a monday or tuesday would give you a better deal.

you may also want to look into AA from ORD-DEL and CO from EWR-DEL.
and a local connection from DEL.
(since both of these flights reach DEL late in the evening, connection
might be tight or impossible for the same day)

Also keep an eye on Cathay, Singapore and Korean from the west coast.

I just read this morning on Yahoo that Delta's going to start a nonstop to BOM. Its too bad they do not have a non stop between Denver & JFK.

Are there any skyteam partners, that go nonstop between DEN & JFK ?

If you can fly between anytime in Oct - Nov 15, then you will get cheaper rates...Nov 15 - Jan 15 is usually the peak period for that part of the world...by the way..remember that Dec-Jan is like a mass exodus for Indians who live in the States and in europe to go home...Plan EARLY....

Nice information. Unfortunately Oct-Nov 15 time frame does not work for me.
I am also kindda surprised by that i would get inexpensive tickets during this time frame. I thought during Deepawali festival, the season was at its peak. And usually Deepawali falls from last week of October to 2nd week of November.

JFK is a delta hub, if there are any chances of a direct flight, it has to be
Delta.

but trust me, you don't want a direct flight to India on a US based airline
in coach. I do it all the time out of time linitations, but I'd
rather choose a non-us carrier.
I've just switched to Star Alliance now its lot better.

If you are a Indian Resident there are some discounts out there. Check out all the sites first to make sure you get the best deal

I would seriously consider flying India in Coach on an US airline...that will be the worst experience of your life and the worst nightmare...

suggest you fly SQ nonstop to LAX-SIN and then do SIN-BOM...more expensive but worth it in coach...especially with the premium economy...

If ytou are flying coach...suggest you look towards the West coast...much better servic from Singapore/Korean/Cathay/Malaysian and Thai...
