It's a bit frightening that I used to regularly exceed most distance/time ratios mentioned in this post. I would often do drives like this without much thought.
30 extra miles to avoid Chicagoland tolls. That's perhaps even more foolish than my longest solo drive (I was also a university student, most likely stupid, at the time):

Los Angeles, CA to Calgary, Alberta - 1,620 miles in exactly 24 hours including a 15 minute delay at the Sweetgrass/Coutts border crossing. All 3 meals were drive-thru's. Ouch.

Furthest you have driven in one day
Got back last night from Los Angeles to Dallas, just under 1500 miles. Back in college I would drive straight through with minimal stops (fuel, food, bathroom), not nearly as eager this time around. Had to stop in AZ with all the storms.

Bought a new pickup in Febuary, 2003. Dealer in Seattle to Girdwood (ak) 47 hours 30 minutes. Stops for gas, food and a quick soak at Laird river hot springs. About 2500 miles. Could have been quicker, but the is no expresso culture in rural Canada!

After 9/11, hired an Avis car and drove the 3,000 miles from the White House to the West Seattle ferry dock in 45 hours flat. Three drivers rotating. That would have come to about 1,700 miles in a single day.

1960: College days, weekend job, alone but 2 others "in convoy", driving "nearly new" Cadillacs to CA: AUS/LAX straight through, 1400 miles, Friday Noon>Saturday evening in time for dinner.
1963: Central Texas to Mayport, FL, 1000+/- mi., before I10 or I20, alone, '57 Plymouth Spote Fury, 19 hours, including 1 hour nap in cemetery in Alabama.
1980s: Routine annually, "straight through", Central Texas/Ocala, Orlando or Ft. Pierce FL & RTN, 1080 up to 1300 mi., short rest periods with relief driver (Conversion van with bed in back).
2005: "The Last (Long) Hurrah", Nashville to Waco, 825 mi, mostly all IH or "Loops", 9AM/11PM, relief driver last 100 mi.. Only because i had to!
Given current speed limits and lots of IHs, I'll still do an occasional 600 mi. day, but not many and less willingly.

Have driven between Marietta, GA and Ann Arbor in one shot multiple times. Usually took about 10-10.5 hours and about 730 miles, but once it took 15 hours due to a massive snow storm in Ohio which my older sis and I drove through. Painful.
In college, drove straight from Ann Arbor to Denver and back in a day, about 1200 miles, I believe. Three of us drove down in one car, met up with a buddy and drove back to school in 2 cars.
I've driven from Lawrenceville, GA to Aurora, CO (anbout 1400 miles) in the space of 24 hours. Probably about 20 hours driving time, rotating with a buddy, stopping just for food and gas. Return was similar. Never want to drive that much in one day again. I'm not in (or just out of) college anymore.

El Paso to Mexico City
I thought that I was doing well. In 1976, we drove from El Paso to Mexico City in 24 hours. Yes, a good portion was in the dark and included a 3 a.m. tap on a cop's shoulder asking directions. Supposedly the distance is 1123 miles.
