Best Aggregate/Search Site

Hello,
I'm looking for your favorite site for searching flights with a wide range of dates, airports, etc (I am especially interested if there is any site that lets you see a specific destination and then a list of prices for different origins). Also I am looking for a flight for Managua, Nicaragua so if there is a Central America specific that would be great!
Kindly--

I like Kayak for general searches. You can try this to see destination from multiple origin cities.

I find mobissimo is pretty handy - quick and lets you display prices in a range of currencies. It also tells you (as a glance) what the currency of the website it refers to is.

This doesn't appear to have anything to do with miles or points, so I'll move it over to TravelBuzz.

doh, sorry about that!--- thanks for the sites:)
What do people think about actually buying the tickets through these search engine sites? Is it better to go direct to the airline and buy it? (even if a bit more? Especially since I plan to maybe change my return date-- so fees that might be associated?)

itasoftware.com (login as a guest).

You can't purchase from this site, but it does give you lots of options for searching, including graphical.

That's the beauty of search sites like the previously mentioned Kayak, Mobissimo, and the site I work for, PriceGrabber.com. When you do the search, you don't actually book with the search site. You are referred to the various merchants that sell the flight. So for example, let's say you find a flight you want to Managua on Continental. You'll be given the option of booking directly at Continental.com or possibly through an online travel agent like Orbitz.

One thing to note, Mobissimo has certainly made its focus on international, so they may have some more direct relationships than others. But it can't hurt to try a few sites and see which ones you like best.

Cool, thanks:)
So what does working for pricegrabber entail? I didn't know they had flight search too :)
Another question-- So the flight i want is 466$ at delta but only 441$ at orbitz and 437$ at cheaptickets..... In this situation what do you guys like to do?

Another question... What I found on the ITAsoftware site is cheaper--- but you can't book on there right? Are there any travel agents or delta or anyone who would sell it at the price on ita? (431$)

I usually find fares using ita, then go to expedia or orbitz and locate it using leg-by-leg search and book it (have to pay their fee :(, but the fare in most cases are much cheaper then expedia's own search)

Hi, I've used Kayak also and have found it to be wonderful for comparisons. ^

Yup, we moved into travel (flights and hotels) back toward the end of 2004. I joined last summer and we exited beta last November. We have some pretty cool enhancements coming in the next month, so stay tuned.

As for your question, it's pretty rare domestically when the airline site is more than an online travel agent, but it happens. If you find the lower fare on another site and you are happy with it, then go ahead and book it while you can. There are some differences that you need to value for yourself. For example, you get 1,000 mile bonus for booking on delta.com and they let you choose your seats from the seat map. Some of the other travel agent sites out there won't let you do that and you'll have to call Delta afterwards. Good luck!

Do any of these sites cover the LCCs as well? e.g. Sun Country, JetBlue, airTran, Frontier, etc?

Try this one

www.airlineconsolidator.com

Although they don't search the big sites, they often have fares that are much lower then I can find anywhere else.
