So I am on the Orbitz site looking for a cheap hotel in Vegas for tomorrow night and I click on the Las Vegas link and it takes me to here

As one could see looking at the actual link, the root site is missing from the link (original link below)

Just interesting

Fairly common web boo-boo. They forgot their hostname -- http://www.orbitz.com/App/ViewHotelS...ue&z=41b7&r=2e . Since app doesn't resolve to anything your web browser helpfully tries app.com instead, which takes you to the Asbury Park Press site.
