Help with flights from Cancun

Hello Everyone,

This is my first post and I hope that I'm in the right place....

I live in Cancun and we are taking a cruise out of Rome in September. I'm looking for the best Business Class fares and I'm having terrible luck. I'm willing to fly to Miami or Mexico City in order to get something decent but I can't find anything. The cruise ends in New York but I'm not sure if an open jag ticket is better than buying two one ways, opinions????

Another thing, should we buy now or wait for better pricing? Will the rates get better or worse as the dates get closer?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums!

Hello.

If you provide more specific dates for the flights, it would help much better.

GETTING TO ROME:
I suggest you look at stops in either New York or Toronto. If you can find a flight to Toronto, Air Canada will have direct flights to Rome.

Here are some fare examples for September 13th:

Air Europa Lineas Aereas, S.A. Flight UX64 on a Boeing 767 (jet) in business class
Departs Cancun, Mexico (CUN) Wed, Sept 13 8:00p
Arrives Madrid, Spain (MAD) Thur, Sept 14 12:50p

Air Madrid Lineas Aereas, S.A. Flight NM3141 on an Airbus A319 (jet) in business class
Departs Madrid, Spain (MAD) Thur, Sept 14 4:00p
Arrives Rome, Italy (FCO) 6:20p

AND

Delta Air Lines Flight DL324 on a Boeing 737 (jet) in business class
Departs Cancun, Mexico (CUN) Wed, Sept 13 7:25am
Arrives Atlanta, GA (ATL) 11:02am

Delta Air Lines Flight DL70 on a Boeing 767 (jet) in business class
(dinner, movie)
Departs Atlanta, GA (ATL) Wed, Sept 13 5:10p
Arrives Rome, Italy (FCO) Thur, Sept 14 8:50a

Both these flights run cheap.

The easy part is the New York-Cancun flight.

GETTING BACK HOME.

American Airlines Flight AA1671 on an Airbus A300 (jet) in business class
(snack, movie)
Departs New York, NY (JFK) Wed, Sept 20 11:00a
Arrives Cancun, Mexico (CUN) 1:52p

Mexicana Airlines also offers non-stops JFK-CUN. They may have the better price.

Once again, these flights may not be with your dates, but they're sample models.

As for booking them, I'd either go see your local travel agent or just book the flights seperately.

Have a good day, I hope this helped. :)

Thank you for your response.

I guess my question was more about how to get a good rate in business class. I've flown on Air Europa and it was so awful that I swore to never go with them again, no matter how cheap they are.

My specific dates are Sept 26th returning October 15th. Now that you know my dates should I wait or book now?

Saludos

Hello.

Usually Business class isn't that cheap. :) As for your dislike of Air Europa, there are other airlines you can take that will have one stop.

ie- AeroMexico to Mandrid, and Alitalia to Rome.
ie-Delta with a stop in Atlanta

All of these flights are availiable on your dates departing in business class. If you'd like the specific details, just ask.

If I were in your position, I'd watch the airfares for 3 weeks are so, and then book atleast your first outbound flight to a major city. IE- book a flight CUN-JFK. Later you can book a JFK-ROM flight. Be sure to pick a city with good options, though.

For your return flight, anytime will do really. Multiple airlines offer a JFK-CUN direct, and you can easily do a stop in another city if the nonstops are full (ie- JFK-MIA-CUN on American Airlines).

If you require any other assistance, feel free to ask!
