Help! Connecting in ORD?

Hi all - I like to consider myself a mildly seasoned traveler (salt and pepper, a little hint of cayenne), but I have yet to travel to or via Chicago O'Hare! I'm heading through that way tomorrow and need help.

I need to go from Terminal 1, Concourse C to Terminal 2, Concourse F. Every map and website that I've come across doesn't explain at all how I'd get there. Do I have to end up going back through security and will 90 minutes suffice?

I love to travel, but I hate having to go through airports that I'm not familiar with. Any help would be great!

You'll have no problem with 90 minutes and you will be able to just follow the signs, without going through security. Relax, it's easy. Lots of people with a lot less on the ball than you have do it every day. :)

Take the Shuttle

Here is a link from United website:

The shuttle runs from Conc C to Con E/F.

Poop! How did I miss that?

Goes to show that my research skills may be waning. Thanks for the tip!

Concourse C says thar you are probably arriving on UA. I believe (although I've never used it) there is a connecting bus that goes from Concourse C to Terminal 2 airside. I think it is down near the low end numbered C gates. (That is because some US and/or UA flights depart from Terminal 2.)

Otherwise, you must exit Concourse C (via an underground walkway) through Concourse B, and exit landside. Then a walk to Terminal 2 and enter through security, to get to Concourse F.

If the bus is (still  ) operating, I would use that to eliminate the long walk and need to pass thru security.

.....

Even without the Shuttle, there is no need to exit the terminal and reenter. You can walk all the way to F gates from Conc C. It is a looong walk, but can be done.

Its not particularly difficult, although there is a bit of distance involved. Here's how you do it....

If your flight (United) lands at Concourse C in Terminal 1, you'll take the escalator and (moving) walkway to Concourse B which is connected to the main terminal area (the portion with ticketing upstairs and baggage claim downstairs). You can either walk or catch the shuttle train to Terminal 2.
"Worst case scenario" walk would be 15-20 minutes. Shuttle train wouldn't save you much if you factor in possible five minute wait for the train. In either event, just watch for signs. The airport signage is reasonably good.

If you take the shuttle train, you'll have to re-enter security at Terminal 2. I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can walk it without leaving and re-entering the secured area. I'm sure someone else on this forum would know for sure.

Shuttle bus is from gate C9 (escalator or steps going down - sign next to them) to gate E3 in T2, and v.v.
