Security Passes
 

I'm going to be meeting a friend that I haven't seen in a very long time at Newark Airport in a few weeks. Now what im wondering is, can I get a special pass and go through security and meet them at the gate, or can I only pick them up right outside security/baggage claim?

Hey First_Class_Flyer, I know that an adult can get a security pass to pick up unaccompanied minors in the arrivals lounge, but haven't heard of such courtesy for other scenarios. All you can do is call TSA and ask them. Good luck.

If you are a United flyer who has a RCC membership and (hopefully 1k status), you can request a pass from the GA to access the RCC for a "meeting". Then IF your friend is coming into that concourse you could meet them at the gate. I can't tell from your profile if you meet these requirements or not. Best wishes, Dave

I've always just asked for a gate pass and been granted one. It works especially well with US airlines so you might try them first.

Unfortunately, I do not hold 1K status, or anything close to that actually. I did however call Newark Airport and they explained that I would be able to obtain a gate pass and at the airlines ticket counter and then go through security to meet them. Thanks alot for your help! :D
