New and Need Help Planning

GaramondRoyalBlue
Hi Everyone,
I am brand new to this forum, in fact today is my first day, so I do not know if I am in the correct place to ask this or not....
My husband and I over the last years are season cruise travelers because we found this is the best way to travel with our son and too see as much as we can at one time. We have done 6 cruises in all but now that we are empty nesters we thought about doing a Las Vegas trip. We have always wanted to go out there... We are still going to be doing cruise also... We LOVE THEM!
We were there one time for a day only .... and had a blast... Now I need some help... I know absolutely nothing about pricing, flights, etc...
We were thinking about going out there for 6 nights... is that too long... We love to gamble, but we also love to sight see and have heard there is beautiful areas around Las Vegas that you can do excursion too ... Such as Hoover Dam, and such...
Even though it is just the two of us we still need to be on somewhat of a budget... not a real tight one... but we also would like to get the best "bang" for our buck! I have been trying to check out prices on the internet but I am totally confused!!

We would be coming from Central Florida....Orlando area... and thinking about doing this around the 1st of June because we have heard prices are better about that time and it is still not too hot then. Being from Fl we can handle some heat but would perfer to stay away from the 100 or so degree days...
SO if you have any suggestion or if I am on the wrong board if you could please direct me, any help would be appreicated.
If I can help anyone with any of my cruise knowledge I would love to help... We mainly have used Carvinal and have been all over the Eastern, Western, and Southern Carribean, along with South America....
Hope you have a great weekend..

Hi Susie! Welcome to FT! You might have better luck getting an answer to your questions in the Las Vegas forum. It's in the Travel&Dining:Destinations section.

Welcome To The Boards

For flights, I suggest you look at Southwest Airlines.

They offer a non-stop flight from MCO to LAS, and you can get it much cheaper than with any other airline.

Here's what I found for you in just one quick search:

Departing
Date: Jun 01 Thu
Route: N/S (non-stop) MCO-LAS
Flight Number: 950
Depart Orlando (MCO) at 5:40 PM
Arrive in Las Vegas (LAS) at 7:55 PM

Returning
Date: Jun 06 Tue
Route: N/S (non-stop) LAS-MCO
Flight Number: 1848
Depart Las Vegas (LAS) at 9:40 AM
Arrive in Orlando (MCO) at 5:05 PM

Cost
Departing
Route: MCO-LAS
Type of Fare: Fun Fare
Best Fare: $176.74
US Taxes: $16.56
PFC: $3.00
Security Fee: $2.50
Passengers: 3
Total departing Fee: $596.40

Arriving

Route: LAS-MCO
Type of Fare: Promotional Fare
Best Fare: $148.84
US Taxes: $14.46
PFC: $4.50
Security Fee: $2.50
Passengers: 3
Total Arriving Fee: $510.90

Total for Flights: $1107.30

I looked to make sure this was one of the better prices by visiting other airline's webpages. Northwest, American, United, Alaska, JetBlue, US Air, and America West all had higher fares when I just checked.

As for hotels, if you discribe what you'd like more it would help. Luxury? Budget? Kid friendly? Entertainment values? (ect)

I hope this helped.
