Is there an advantage?

Booking a one way Aer Lingus SNN-DUB.

Is there an advantage to booking with one of the USA web sites instead of Aer Lingus? For example American because of One World, Or Am Express site? Expedia? Etc?

There may be an advantage in taxes and/or exchange rates to purchasing from a US-based travel agency like aa.co, expedia.com or AmEx.

I'm not familiar with Ireland specifically, but for travel in some countries, you can save on certain VAT-like taxes by purchasing your ticket from an overseas travel agent.

Also, if you book directly through Aer Lingus, you'll probably be charged in Euros. Foreign travel agents usually sell you the ticket in their local currency, typically at very favorable exchange rates (and without the 1-3% gouge fees most credit cards charge for foreign currency transactions).

Thanks for your reply. Yes, Aer Lingus charges in euros, AA doesn't charge a booking fee like Expedia....Just having difficultly with using the Aer Lingus site. When using AA there is a wait time as they only request the ticket. I am more interested in leverage if something goes wrong where I have 1 person to call.

I booked Den-LHR-DUB RT on United .com but will end up at Adair Manor 45 min from SNN and would like to fly back to DUB for my return. Not able to book SNN-DUB on United.com.

Thanks again for responding.
