Help with SkyAuction

I went on SkyAuction and looked at some of the auctions....there are some really great deals! I just had a question about the pricing and itinerary. For example, say I win an auction for $50. The site says that taxes and service fees are $85, so that means that my total would be $135, right? So, for my itinerary, would I be able to travel when I want to as long as I travel within the deadline that the seller puts out there? I just don't want to be caught off guard.

Thanks,

Regina

Yes, but be very careful, and read ALL the details. Many have 'surcharges' for certain flight times, or from certain departures, certain destinations. For instance, I saw one for $315 anywhere on the East Coast of the US to London -- with $135 in taxes, $250 surcharge for travel in June, July or August, and $250 surcharge for leaving Orlando. Add the $30 surcharge each way for leaving on a Fri, Sat or Sun... and you're up to $1010.

I also paid a $15 service fee

On two occasions last year when I successfully bid for airfares on Sky Auction, there were of course the various surcharges to be aware of. In addition, buried somewhere or other is a notation about there being a $15 service fee per auction.

Bid with your head and not over it. Enjoy the experience!
