Singapore?

Last year I went to Shanghai for the year end Tennis Masters Cup and took in side trips to Beijing and Hong Kong. Had a great time. The tennis tournament is in Shanghai again this year so I'm going again - and will go back to Hong Kong. Looking for another city to see for ~ 2 days. Singapore has been mentioned by some friends. Any comments? Is it worth it?

You'd get more useful response with a more descriptive title. @:-)

To your question, yes.

I find the place pretty dull and would pick Bangkok over it any time. But if you like to shop then Singapore's your place.

I wasn't impressed by the shopping. It's the same stuff they sell here and it's either the same price or more expensive. Might as well just hit the mall down the street than go all the way there for shopping. (The OP's profile says he lives in CA.)

Life is not just shopping.
I feel safe in Singapore, relaxed, city is clean, people friendly, services are the best and you can relax and take it easy that what i do.

There's a lot more to do in Singapore than just shop. IMHO it's definitely worth a visit.

Suggest you do a search. There's a dedicated Singapore forum on FT. You may also want to drop by the SQ forum for further info.

Thanks. I'm still trying to figure out the delineation between forums here.

Singapore IMO is more do'able in 2 days than Bangkok.

Singapore is great! It's also a good place to decompress after spending long periods in other countries of the region like Indonesia, Thailand, Burma, etc.

Yes, a great wind-down zone. You can safely eat street food, crime is low, police are (IME) honourable, and the transportation system is excellent.
