Singapore?
Last year I went to Shanghai for the year end Tennis Masters Cup and took in side trips to Beijing and Hong Kong. Had a great time. The tennis tournament is in Shanghai again this year so I'm going again - and will go back to Hong Kong. Looking for another city to see for ~ 2 days. Singapore has been mentioned by some friends. Any comments? Is it worth it?

Singapore best city/island in the far east by far

You'd get more useful response with a more descriptive title. @:-)
To your question, yes. |
I find the place pretty dull and would pick Bangkok over it any time. But if you like to shop then Singapore's your place.

There's a lot more to do in Singapore than just shop. IMHO it's definitely worth a visit.
Suggest you do a search. There's a dedicated Singapore forum on FT. You may also want to drop by the SQ forum for further info. |

Singapore IMO is more do'able in 2 days than Bangkok.

Singapore is great! It's also a good place to decompress after spending long periods in other countries of the region like Indonesia, Thailand, Burma, etc.

M8 Yes, a great wind-down zone. You can safely eat street food, crime is low, police are (IME) honourable, and the transportation system is excellent. |
