Check in time needed for Fuimicino?

For an inter-European flight (FCODUB), is a 2 hr check in necessary?

The one time I checked in at FCO for an inter-Italy trip, 1 hour was enough, and for my one FCO-ATL trip, 2 hours was more than enough. Of course, ymmv.
