Widest COACH seats
 

Flying to Vegas from Milwukee, in March........Which airline offers the widest seats in COACH CLASS......tips please......

You're not going to find much deviance amongst width, maybe 0.5 inch across the board. But I'd say any airline that runs boeing or airbus over the MD's will have a bit wider seats.

According to SeatGuru.com, Midwest Airlines (convenient for you if leaving from Milwaukee) has 4-abreast seating on all its MD-8x and B-717s (most airlines have 5-across in economy on these planes).

It won't help you to/from LAS, but any airline flying an Embraer 170 will have the widest and most comfortable coach seats around - 18.25 inches wide, nice padding and good elbow space.

The Midwest example is good (although techically FC) - but if you book them, make sure you don't choose a "saver" flight. Those aircraft have regular 2x3 seating with 17" wide seats.

IIRC LAS only gets Saver Service from ME.

Isn't 18" the standard for Airbus aircraft? I think United/Ted is all A-320s, one of which you could take from ORD.

Yes, it is. 18" is also the standard for MD-80 coach seats, meaning that AA has almost 350 aircraft flying all over the country from DFW and ORD with nice, 18" wide coach seats. :)

I thought MD seats were way narrower. But I guess I thought that as I sat because I was sitting in the second last row with the engine 1 foot to my right and lav 4 feet to my left.

And of course you can always look up a particular seat on any airline at Seat Guru once you narrow your search. It gives seat sizes as well as infomrmation on particular seats, like extra leg room, cautions, etc.

You're in Milwaukee, the hub of Midwest Airlines. If you want wide, leather coach seats, Midwest is it. ^

This solution will work on any carrier and gives you 36 inches of width -- buy two coach seats.

One caveat...seat assignments are not guaranteed. You can have the empty seat beside you taken away by the gate agent or FA and have no recourse.

Did you not read the previous posts? Midwest only flies this route on saver service which means that it is the typical width seat of any other airline. Actually it is only 17 inches which is actually a little bit smaller then other major carriers.

Yes I did read, thank you for playing. Midwest has the most comfortable seats in coach out of Milwaukee. Narrow seats are typically uncomfortable but I don't carry rulers with me.

Midwest it is for the US.... but then I get crammed into a microplane that has some of the smallest seats around to get to my final destinations that are not major metropolitan areas.
