Baggage allowance

Can someone help with my question! When travelling on a ticket covering various airlines/weight systems, the maximum weight applies (i.e. regardless of your routing, if you travel via the US, you can take 2 pieces). I am travelling on an international ticket in First Cass. For this, my baggage allowance is 40KG. As I am *Gold, I am entitled to an extra 20KG giving me a total allowance of 60KG (at least when travelling on *alliance flights). I have purchased a separate ticket for a return domestic flight - in economy as it is a one class service - (1 sector on a *Alliance carrier and the return sector on another carrier - both sectors on 1 ticket). Now I know that the *alliance carrier won't question my baggage allowance for my domestic flight but what allowance will I be entitled to for the other carrier (their allowance is 15kg). Can I say that as I'm travelling on an international ticket, this weight applies? Or is this not the case as it is not ticketed on my international ticket?

I want to shop! :D

As this does not discuss the latest "miles and points buzz" and covers multiple unrelated carriers, I'll move it to TravelBuzz.

Well the "maximum weight" thing does only apply for Star Alliance and for flights included in the itinerary.
For the separate ticket you still get the *G benefit if it's on *A, the second non-*A airline probably won't care what other tickets you have and will apply the 15 kg rule.

Do you really need to carry your luggage with you all the time? Can't you leave a suitcase at the destination where you're taking the domestic flight?

It's very hard to give a good answer when we don't even know what routes and airlines we're talking about.

Japan

I'm flying into Japan on LH and out on NH (both in First). I then take a domestic flight with NH and return on JL. I wish I could leave my luggage somewhere .. would be much easier ... but it isn't an option!
