Has anyone asked out a Flight Attendant on a date?

Has anyone asked out a FA on a date?

There were couple FAs that I wanted to ask out on a date, but I always lose my nerves at the end. I heard they get a handful of business cards on transatlantic / pacific flights.. Anyone with a successful story?

No, but there's one IAD based UA 757 FA who I've flown with a couple of times in the last two months who I'd like to engage in a bit of conversation the next time I'm on her flight.

It's kind of akward to ask them out when they are doing service runs. Perhaps, when youget off the plane, slip them your business card? or perhaps wait for them to get off the plane and pretend you are lost?

...laughs...yeah, i've dated a few FA's but then again since I see them regularly at work, it's easier to strike up a conversation and ask them out. :D

I have asked out a flight attendant before. However it was in an airport lounge, not on the plane. Tons of snow so my flight was delayed, hers had gotten in but she was waiting for a friend to land before heading into Manhattan for the weekend. I actually asked her how often she is asked out on flights and she said while not as often as you would think, she is hit on by sleezy guys a lot and the guys she would go out with never ask.

don't be shy! There have been several times I have admired a passenger and wished they would be forward or chat us up... I feel passengers are intimidated... (maybe they have been shouted at or scolded tooo many times by a mean f/a).. and don't dare show interest.... just give us a little hint of interest, and maybe if we are single and interested we will make something happen...

an F/A open to business and pleasure...

ahh... interesting insight. i will have to try that.... my usual approach of "may i have more water please" has yet to yield results

I think Frank Gifford got in trouble after asking an F/A on a date... though perhaps this thread is more focused on unmarried FTers.

I flirted with plenty of F/As in my single yrs, but never asked one out. I did ask out the girl working front desk at the hotel where I was staying once back in 2001. We've been married almost 3 yrs now, and have a 2.5 month old daughter. :D

Yep, I married one. She was a f/a with DL. :)

Year ago on a flight from HNL to ORD on AA. As she was walking to the back of the bus just before take off, we made an eye contact and I knew that she was special. During the early part of the flight I asked the purser if her colleague working in the back was single. The purser, an older FA gave me the ^ and told me she would talk to her about me. The F crew was doing a fantastic job so I gave the purser a box of Hawaiian Macadamia Nuts Chocolates to share with the crew as a personal Thank You for the great job they were doing. I guess that helped break the ice. The very beautiful lady came up in the middle of the night after they were done and the lights were out, to thank me for her share of the chocolates, and the rest is history....... :D ^

I dated an AA EXP desk agent a few years ago - some FTers may recall seeing us together at a couple of 2001 FT get-togethers. Does that count? (We met by e-mail/phone and got interested before either of us had any idea what the other looked like.)

My uncle in law (is that the right term for my wife's aun't husband?) not only dated one, he married one. The story as I heard it was he flew 2-3 times a month on a flight she was working and over the course of about 6 months a romance blossomed. He was a Sr. VP of a Fortune 50 company at the time, makes it more likely to get a yes when asking an F/A out I would think.

After reading your posts, now I can muster enough courage to ask an FA out.
Thanks for the encouragement! ^
