EU Schengen Countries' Visa Questions
Americans can go to the Schengen Zone countries without a visa.
Using http://www.delta.com/planning_reserv...tion/index.jsp some Schengen countries seem to have, for Americans, a maximum stay without a visa of 3 months. Other countries seem to not require a visa for a stay of max. 3 months in any 6 months' period. Others have it as "Visa not required for a stay of max. 90 days per half year." So are these all meant to be exactly the same thing or is there really some minor country-to-country difference? Conceivably someone could travel back and forth enough that they are in a particular EU country for more than 3 months in a 6-month period but not have stayed in country/zone for a single 3-month stretch. Under such circumstances one could possibly be in compliance with one country's apparent visa rules but be out of compliane with another's. Is that right? |
TIMATIC is inaccurate in this case.
You are permitted to spend a maximum of 90 days in each rolling 180 day period cumulatively with physical presence in any of the Schengen states. This is a standard policy for all member states as per the Schengen acquis. There are no exceptions. |
