long term parking

I have never left a car at long term parking in an airport before.

How safe is it to leave a few bags in the car? and would it be silly to consider leaving valuables such as a laptop in the car?

thanks...

The general rule is if they can't see it they can't want it. Don't leave anything visible on the seats like CDs or spare change.

I never leave anything of value in a car. Our company recently had laptops stolen in LA when somone watched them put the bags in the trunk before they entered the building to visit a client. One broken side window and they popped the trunk.

I have never had a problem leaving items in my car at the airport, but you should probably consider a few factors before making your decision:

How long will your trip be?
How well lit is the area?
Are there security cameras to scare off thieves?

It will be at a lot in or near IND for about a week. Any advice on that place?

When I'm going to be parking in a neighborhood I consider at all dodgy, I pull over a few blocks before my destination and put valuables in the trunk, then drive to the destination and park. That way no one sees me both store the valuables and leave the car unattended.

You should be fine if it in one of their parking lots like the Tiger Parking.

Of course you shouldn't leave anything visible, but some people make a habit of breaking into (or attempting to break into) car trunks. Apparently, it's a worthwhile enterprise for them.

That's the best advice. ^ ^ ^

Not to belabor the point ( ;) ), but regardless of whether anyone sees you put things in your trunk or not, there are people who make a habit of breaking into car trunks....
