Looking for warmth

I am looking for suggestions of travel destinations that are warm. My husband and I are wanting to take a 3-4 day trip without the children between christmas and new years. Anys suggestions? thanks

While I'm sure lots of FTers would love to offer their favorite warm destinations (mine's Bermuda), a bit more information might help. Where are you travelling from? What's your budget (do you prefer a five-star hotel or are you a budget traveler)? What would you like to do (water stuff, cultural events)? A few more details would probably help us offer some suggestions which would be a bit more practical for you and your family.

If you are in the Northern Hemisphere, the Southern Hemisphere

Welcome to Flyer Talk! I agree with scirel, it would be much easier to suggest places depending on where you live. If you're on the west coast, somewhere in Mexico might be a good idea, as long as hurricane season is over. You can get some good rates for destinations in the bahamas before the holiday season ramps up if you're looking into that as well.

Good luck!

Welcome to FT hwilker. You will find lots of folks willing to help you. You just need to provide a little more information..e.g. departing city, budget, expectations. Good luck.

I love this, made me smile. Partly the original post, partly the friendly replies, and partly a pleasant memory.

I'm assuming, perhaps incorrectly, that the OP forgot to mention their location as they're just not used to the mad travel frenzy with people from all over the world that you find here.

Reminds me of my first day many years ago in a unix computer lab. I was dumbfounded at failing to access the floppy disk I had just inserted into the computer I was sat at. Eventually discovered that I was actually logged into the computer three down from the one in front of me - a concept I kind of knew about but that never occurred to me as real world till then. Welcome to a networked world!

I think the forecast for CLE today is a high of 71. Is that warm enough?

We'll be in Oaxaca then. Post if that's where you end up going.

Other than that, have you considered South America? It'll be early summer there. You can reach much of it on overnight flights (for example Santiago, Chile, from Miami and Dallas-Fort Worth on AA) so you won't use up one of your few days in transit.

Then there are the obvious Hawai'i and the Caribbean, but they're likely to be overstuffed with tourists around then.

Australia, southeast Asia, and South Africa are nice, but too far away to be practical in your time frame.
