Baggage ....who has precedence?

Will be flying YQR - KUL on a China Airlines ticket
Routing is YQR - CGY - YVR on Air Canada
then... YVR - TPE - KUL by the primary Carrier
return is the reverse.
now the question
China Air baggage restriction is 32kg for this route
Air Canada has 50 lbs (22.75 kg) on their website.

Since I'm essentially flying CA ....does their restriction take precedence over Air Canada's?

Hi curiouspax,

Welcome to flyertalk!

What does the ticket say?

I would have thought that as long as it is one ticket the higher weight would prevail ( in this case China Airlines)

Whichever you are checking your bags into i.e. if you are checking into Air Canada's counter even though on a China Air ticket you can only check in 50 lbs.

That's funny... I thought all flights going to the US and Canada have more relaxed baggage restrictions, regardless of airline.
