Bahamas / Caribbean
 

Hi,

We have a flight booked back from MIA > ORD > LHR leaving on the 4th Sept in the evening.

We have been to Miami so many times, and wondered where in the Bahamas or Caribbean would be a good place to go over the weekend before our flight leaves on Sunday evening.

Nassau is running cheap at the moment, does anyone have any other suggestions ?

Flights to Puerto Rico are pretty cheap.

Nassau woulld likely be the least expensive flight option. I do find it rather dirty and boring, but I suppose there's enough to see & do the first time.

I used the Travelocity Dream Maps feature (sorry, no link but you can find it on their site map) to scan for what was low cost. Flights to Nassau were $90 RT from FLL (be sure to look using MIA, FLL & PBI as jumping off points). Other options under $300 included San Juan, Kingston, Providenciales, Grand Cayman, Marsh Harbour. Never been to PLS, so I think that would be my choice.

I would wait until this weekend to book anything. By then you should know what and where if any damage Tropical Strom/Hurricane Katrina did to the islands and you will know which ones to avoid; if any.
