I wonder how many other passengers onboard actually witnessed the incident?

Coathanger Aug 5, 2005 7:34 pm

Eeew! Makes you think twice about your seatmate before you fall asleep...

civicmon Aug 5, 2005 7:39 pm

The crew alerted four U.S. Secret Service Agents who were on board the flight, returning from an assignment in Texas.

lucky for her... they had some pro law enforecement agents on the flight.

that's sick.. I mean, this guy's definately the exception though and not the norm.

What the heck was he thinking? Too much to drink, in my opinion! :td: :td: :td:

"Significant quantity of the victim's DNA was present on his hands". Nasty.

Was the woman he assaulted drunk or something? If I was the woman, I certainly couldn't sleep while someone "laid a blanket over [me], unfastened [my] seat belt, unbuttoned [my] pants and assaulted [me] by touching" that area. I'd sort of wake up somewhere before the unbuttoning of my pants no matter how exhausted I was.

If someone unfastened your seat belt, unbuttoned your pants and made way to the underwear area, would you sleep through all of that? I guess some others can sleep through most anything. I certainly could not.

I couldn't either but we don't really know her situation ie, was she up all night the night before, or just an absurdly heavy sleeper?

if it means anything, when I was a kid I could never figure out how my dad could sleep from before takeoff to after landing going from SFO-NYC when I was a kid.

KENNECTED Aug 6, 2005 5:27 am

As a person who is an EXTREMELY hard sleeper (I have four alarm clocks all set within 3 min of each other! :p :p) I do not understand how a person could have all those things done without noticing until it was too late.

The article doesn't mention this but, maybe the victim took a sleeping aide prior to the flight, which might have prevented her from realizing what was taking place sooner?

Boy had Jahagirdar tried to touch any women I know, the secret service would have had to restrain THEM, from doing bodily injury to HIM!! He would have received one-hell-of-a beatdown!

As a man, I feel that this is not disgusting but disturbing!

Try an FTer on Ambien... ;) Sersiously, some people sleep more deeply than others, and if this sick slimeball was at all as stealthy as some pickpockets, then he had a chance - but the victim "The woman immediately pulled Jahagirdar's hand from her pants and fled to the rear of the aircraft where she reported the assault to the flight crew," it said.

What was this twisted idiot THINKING?

Yeah, I've always wondered at these cases. How can the perp hope to escape??
