NYC coffee?
Real espresso coffee... where will an Aussie with a thing for great long black coffees go? Pref midtown area. Local shops rather than SB or McD, pls!
How about areas in BOS, NOLA, LV & SFO? Surely you've found some good places... -BB |
Can't help you with midtown Manhattan. But if you head to Little Italy, I'm sure you'll find a few places to enjoy your brew.
Do let the locals know when you'll be in town. My friend idsant would insist on it. ;) Dan |
When in San Francisco, the ONLY place for truely great coffee is Peet's.

In Macy's Cellar there is an island where they sell Australian Ice Cream, and serve Italian coffee. It's in the area near the chocolates. Macy's is at Herald Square - 34th and Broadway.

There is a Euro Cafe some where around Central Park... But I'm not much of a Coffee person, but I have seen a number of Hot Chicks at that place if it helps.. :p

Outside of Italy, it's hard to find really good espresso.

If you're an Aussie, the best place to go in Manhattan is undoubtedly Ruby's (219 Mulberry) downtown in Nolita. Great coffee, and it's an Aussie hangout, to boot. As for Midtown, try the Dean & Deluca at Rockefeller Center.

Not in midtown - or even Manhattan (sorry, short subway ride away) - is Gimme coffee in williamsburg. Excellent espresso.
