Always first on. I only travle with carry-ons and refuse to check anything, so getting on board first is critical. Fortunately, havign grown-up in the NYC metro area, I'm very good at getting myself to the front of the scrum.

I prefer not to check anything in either but SQ seem pretty strict about the luggage allowance. Recently I was flying standby from SIN and was thus allowed to carry aboard two pieces of luggage (backpack and cabin rollaboard). Has anyone else been allowed to get away with two pieces of cabin baggage?

I always prefer to be one of the first. I like to get settled, put my carryons in the overhead above me (which rarely happens when I am one of the last to board), and just take my seat. I would rather not get into confrontations with those who prefer to take my seat instead of theirs.
