As egtravel mentioned, i really didnot mean playing with priceline. I thought i will not get the hotel for that price. I have used priceline a few times earlier but not for hotels.
Iam happy to pay the price i got. Only problem i have is the extra $50 the hotel is asking. Priceline does not tell anywhere that we are bidding for 2 people(atleast i did not see it). It told that only after price is accepted.

I will try the trick that few guys told i.e to check in with only 2 people. But only thing i want is a room with 2 beds.

BTW, with PL bidding, they don't guarantee 2 beds. So, don't be shocked if they gave you a room with just 1 bed.

They can still blacklist you.

And you won't win with your cc company anyway.

The Priceline T&C clearly state that you will get a room suitable for 2 people, and that bedding requests are to be made after purchase and cannot be guaranteed. If you analyze the areas closely using the bidding boards, you can find out if a particular zone or star rating is likely to be a problem, and avoid it. But there are never any guarantees.

Bring a sleeping bag just in case you get one bed. Usually the hotels are pretty good at providing two beds. Call in advance and see if you can get that type of room requested on your reservation. PL doesn't guarantee the number of beds, but hotels are often kind enough to provide what you nicely request.

You should really check out betterbidding.com and biddingfortravel.com before you "play" with PL again. Those two websites provide tons of PL info.

I had this happened to us once. Once I was travelling with two of my friends where we booked one room and listed the guest numbers as two instead of three to avoid the extra guest charge. Initially we thought they would provide us with two queen size bed which would sleep a total of four guest. But when we walked into the room, only two single beds were provided so one had to sleep somewhere else. Luckily I forgot to remove the sleeping bag out of my trunk the last time I went camping, so by the time we arrived at the hotel, the sleeping bag was still there for one of us to utilize during the overnight stay. :D

Yes, it would appear to be the case from the OP's posts.

(1) Attention Moderator! This really belongs in the priceline forum, it's not important enough to take up space here.

(2) Nobody "accidentally" bids on priceline. You have to enter your credit card # before purchasing, plus billing info and the secret code. And then hit enter. At that point everybody knows that they can be charged.

(3) Why on earth would you bid on a room if you didn't think you would get it??? Admittedly, I myself have been know to submit lowball offers. But when they are accepted I am 100% delighted for snagging a tremendous bargain. If you don't feel the same way, you shouldn't be using priceline.

You have nothing to complain about. If you bid too much you should do your homework next time by checking rates and visiting biddingfortravel.

I have gotten very good deals at Priceline ... after visiting BFT and betterbidding.

And imagine this: I booked a 4-star hotel in Paris. Got Novotel Les Halles. Room was lousy, like in a cheap motel :o . Wrote to Priceline and got my money back. That's a real GREAT service! ^
