Minimum connection times
Is there any readily available resource listing minimum connection times (MCT)? Even by airline/airport would be a help.
|
OAG lists MCT but that requires a subscription. That is the best source. Many airlines make MCT available on their web sites, but it is buried in the site and often difficult to find. For example here is the one for AC (one of the easier ones to find, but incomplete): http://www.aircanada.com/en/travelin...tiontimes.html
You could go through each airline's web site and construct a directory -- as far as I know it hasn't been done yet. |
Thanks. Some airline websites dont include MCT (eg QF).
What about airport websites, do they include MCT? |
MCT is determined by the airline. The airport doesn't have a say in it, however a few airport web sites list it. Most don't, as they don't want to get involved with ensuring the accuracy of the data. MCT is increasingly becoming a marketing tool, SR now LX made a big deal of it at their ZRH hub and LH is boasting of 30 minute MCT for all flights when the new terminal at MUC is completed (hard to believe as MUC has long-haul flights). Finally many airlines vary MCT by class of service, for example on CX almost all F MCT is 30 minutes while for Y it can be 90 minutes. This makes some sense as F luggage is loaded in a separate container and first off the plane, so it can be processed faster for connections.
