Would you fly in a plane with no windows?
I was thinking about this the other day when I was way in the back of a DC-9 and the last windows are blocked off.
I tend to get aisle seats, and I'm not a big window-gaper; usually, there's not much to see but clouds or darkness. But would you feel comfortable on a plane with no windows?
Paratroopers and other military types routinely travel in a/c with no windows, but I think the general public would feel a bit uneasy about the whole thing. I believe I would, too. Would you?

No, I wouldn't be on such a plane. Even though I sit on the aisle, I'm always gazing out the window. I need the natural light.

I think you probably just gave airline execs a new idea on how to cut costs

I've flown on an aircraft without windows and its really not a lot of fun. It's also the closest I've been to losing my lunch in an aeroplane. So the answer is no, absolutely definitely no way.

Many of the early artist's renderings of the commercial "space plane" that is under development show a vehicle that evidently has no passenger windows. In fact, I don't recall seeing even one such picture with windows. I've always thought this is a BIG oversight, especially for a plane that would presumably give passengers a real sense of the spherical shape of the Earth. If they had windows, of course.

Nope. Sounds like a clear-cut solicitation for claustrophobia...for me any way.

No. I always ask for a window seat.
Pretty amazing when you are flying over the Grand Canyon. One time, on my way back from Vegas, the pilot got clearance to fly extra-low...ooooohhhh, aaahhhhh....

If the fare is low enough and/or the seat is spacious enough, yes. One can get a taste of that experience already: Some Boeing a/c don't have windows in certain locations (for HVAC ducting) and being seated in the middle of a large wide body gives you that feeling already.

I must have a window seat so I can see what's going on - keeps me calm. So no, I would not choose to fly in a windowless plane.

I always request a window seat away from the wing, so by and large I wouldn't. But most things are susceptible to economics. So, for half the cost of the deepest discount fare in a market, yes I would. After all, how much of your total leisure trip is spent on an aircraft?

Exactly, if it were cheaper I'd consider it. But I'd still pay more for a plane with windows, especially if I were with a first time flyer or someone who rarely flies.
I very rarely look out the windows, except maybe to see the sun setting or rising above the clouds.

Try getting pitch and roll bearings when there's no windows to look out of

Sounds like a plane rented from Enterprise
