Looking for a new rollaboard.
 

I know I saw a thread on this but I can't find it.

I need to replace my 20" er, (not the 22") and it needs to be lightweight in case I can't find some big strong husky to help me heft it into the overhead bin.

The TravelBuzz forum has threads on this from time to time, including one a few weeks back.

I recently replaced a bag that had over a million miles on it. After doing some research, I went with TravelPro and I've really enjoyed my selection. I can't be certain if they make the best bags out there, but it is certainly the best bag I have ever owned. And they definitely have a lightweight line that seems to match what you are looking for. You'll likely hear various suggestions, but I'd recommend putting TravelPro on the list of brands to consider. Good Luck!

It's a matter of personal taste, I guess. I absolutely detested the TravelPro set (not so much the rollaboard as the smaller carryon) that I had and finally threw it out. I spent a mint on a Tumi set and do not regret a penny of it.

Yep. And I had to mortgage my kids to do it, but it has been absolutely worth it.

Go to Marshall's, Ross's, A.J. Wright, and Value City and look through the bags. They have everybody's leftovers. The only one I saw over $50 last week was a hardsided Sampsonite rollon for $75.

They have light ones, heavy ones, black ones purple ones, and a couple of tiger and leapord designs. Most all for $39.95.

I have used travelpro, briggs and riley and tumi, I found that travelpro dind't hold up to what I needed, and briggs and riley is cheaper than tumi and just as sturdy (maybe not as stylish) I would go with B&R

I personally like luggage from Magellan's. They sell high quality products that are not exorbitant.

If there is a Costco near where you live, their private label Kirkland Signature line has all the features a road warrior needs and includes a lifetime warranty.
The price is unbelievable for the feature set -- around $120.

The pull tabs kept breaking on my first one and I was able to take it back to Costco (without the receipt) and exchange for a new one; no questions asked. They apparently had seen/fixed that problem, because my second KS bag has 300,000 plus miles on it and is just like new.

I second the Costco Kirkland one. It's got a blank spot where the brand name is supposed to be embossed, but the quality is very good. Does anyone know which company actually makes the product? I wouldn't be surprised if it was Tumi or TravelPro.
