Why didn't I think of this. You are waiting for a city bus and you want to know when the next bus is going to arrive. If you are lucky, there will be a grimy copy of a timetable affixed to a pole, and if you are even luckier, the time will be somewhat accurate. Some genius has come up with the idea of using GPS trackers on buses and connecting them to a website or cell phone number so you can use your cell phone or other mobile device to enter the identifier of whatever bus stop you are at (posted on the bus stop sign), and the system returns the ETA of the bus. A further innovation is a bar code on the sign that your cell-phone-camera can scan and send to the website. Of course, most people with mobile devices can afford to drive cars....
