I was so grossed out...
 

I recently traveled in first class from Boston to Los Angeles.

A lady next to me was wearing sandals. She removed her sandals during flight and and was not wearing socks. Her bare feet did not bother me.. but, she kept on going to the bathroom with no shoes or socks.

All I could think was she must be stepping in urine with her bare feet. I was so grossed out..

I am crazy or just overreacting.... :confused:

It's her problem, but I agree it is gross... I would have made a big pantomined effort to put my shoes back on before going to the loo, saying something like 'do you have any idea how gross it is on the floor in there with people peeing all over the place... God, every bump... whosh, splat!, " with a laugh now that you're both in on the same joke...

Oh well. Just try not to think about it. :)

I would seriously consider overruling my natural male animal instincts and not sucking her toes.

You are neither..the floors of the lavs are beyond comprehension after some flights. Poop, pee, puke...and any other assorted fluids are left to be soaked up by the sock-wearing passenger. Pee-er, beware!

I see this all the time on flights to/from Hawaii.

Did she wrap her feet with the blanket and even caress them up into the seat pocket?

Few places I go barefoot...but I was especially blown away last week seeing a woman at a very very busy dog park in Seattle barefoot. Different strokes, I guess.

If I was only given the choices of going barefoot or with socks (of course, in reality, I only wear shoes), I would choose barefoot. Barefoot, you wipe your feet on the carpet as you walk back to your seat. With socks, you end up soaking up all the liquids on the bathroom floor and bring it all back to your seat with you. :eek:

It might be fun to tell the next person that you see doing this that you are a consultant for the CSI TV shows and you would like to culture their feet to see what the different pathogens are that they picked up while walking barefoot in the lav. Tell them that it will be the subject of an upcoming episode...called Suspicious Death in the Air... :eek:
